For those who love our feathered forest friends, join Gillian Candler for a wonderful mix of science and crafts. Match beaks with birds, create an origami kiwi bookmark, or colour and cut out a kaka mask. There will be no end of fun in our Factopia corner.

- Beginners Guide to Adventure Sports:
Teens and adults who are beginners or interested in getting started in adventure sports such as mountain biking, off-road running, open water swimming, kayaking, reading maps, orienteering, etc., etc., will enjoy our activities with Steve Gurney. In addition to an inspiring “Book Talk” session he will also give a lesson on how to repair a tyre.

If you’ve been too embarrassed to admit you don’t know how to fix a puncture, then this is a great practical session for you to come and learn. Steve will start from the basics, and you can ask any questions you like, no such thing as a dumb question, it’s all about learning in this session! Things to bring if you have them:
- Your own bike wheel if you have one, and especially good if you have a puncture already, (or you can pretend it’s flat!)
- 2 tyre levers (or 2 desert spoons will do)
- A puncture repair kit (something like $5 dollars from your bike shop)
- Bike pump
- A rag to clean your hands with.
