Supertonic, Wellington’s new choir for young professionals, is excited to be returning to the stage as the closing act for the Aro Valley Fair on Saturday 12 March. The performance will be a riveting half-hour set featuring choral interpretations from some true icons of pop music including Aerosmith, the Beatles, and David Bowie. The set will get underway at 4.30pm and continue on until the fair closes at 5.00pm

The entire choir is hugely excited at the impending return to the stage at the self-described ‘best little fair in town’, especially as many of the singers live in Aro Valley. You will hear the earworm to end all earworms in Here Comes the Sun, the beautiful waiata by Bishop Pompallier Mō Maria, and the ultimate break-up song Go Your Own Way from Fleetwood Mac’s unforgettable album Rumours. And, intent on making sure the 90’s live forever, music director Isaac Stone has arranged the classic I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing specifically for this event.

Finishing the set will be a tribute to a legend who inspired the choir to present his entire Hunky Dory album in 2015. Three unique songs have been selected: Andy Warhol, with more polyrhythms than you can shake a stick at; Quicksand, possibly David Bowie’s best marriage of melody and harmony; and the epic anthem that needs no explanation - Life on Mars.

The performance will be completely free, so come early to enjoy the many stalls and knick knacks the fair has to offer, alongside a wonderful set of pop music.
