McGuinness Institute, Catalyst Trust and Queenstown Lakes District Council are collaborating to bring this full day workshop (9am-5.30pm) and evening public presentation (6-7.30pm) to Queenstown Lakes.

It follows from McGuinness Institute’s TacklingPovertyNZ workshop in December 2015, when thirty-six 18–25 year olds came together to articulate a youth perspective on the issue of poverty in New Zealand and how we might, as a country, go about tackling it.

The Queenstown Lakes workshop will hear from The Treasury’s Chief Economist Dr Girol Karacaoglu , former Auckland City Mission CEO Dame Diane Robertson, local community representatives and six participants from the December workshop before focusing on local solutions to help contribute to a more fair and robust community here in Queenstown lakes district.

Dame Diane and Dr Karacaoglu will speak at the evening session before workshop participants outline their findings.
Refreshments will be served.

Please register your interest in either or both the workshop and evening presentation through qld.tacklingpoverty@qldc.govt.nz
