Taoist Tai Chi is great for everyone, whether they are fit and healthy or have specific health conditions or restrictions.

This 6-week introductory course is a great opportunity to get a feel for what Taoist Tai Chi is all about and to start feeling the benefits.

With regular practice, Taoist Tai Chi arts exercise the whole physiology, including the tendons, joints, connective tissue and internal organs. They are a method of "taming the heart" and developing an attitude of calm, compassion and reduced self-centeredness, both during practice and in daily life.

The Taoist Tai Chi internal arts are specifically designed to improve health. The significant degree of turning and stretching in each of the movements, combined with the adaptability of the form to suit individual needs, are just some of the factors that contribute to its focus on restoring, improving and maintaining health. Taoist Tai Chi can help with: improved circulation, better balance and posture, increased strength and flexibility and reduced stress.

Many thousands of individuals have found the movements of the Taoist Tai Chi internal arts to be an effective way to counteract the pressures of modern life and to cultivate health, restoring the calmness and peace of mind that is often lost through the desires and anxieties of daily life.

Although not a substitute for proper medical treatment, Taoist Tai Chi can help to improve the health and quality of life for people dealing with health conditions such as poor circulation, high blood pressure, arthritis, back pain, joint immobility, respiratory problems, digestive disorders, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and many others.

Taoist Tai Chi arts are founded on a rich tradition of Taoist training. According to Taoist teachings, body and mind cannot be separated. Practising these arts helps the body return to a balanced, relaxed and healthy state and returns the mind to stillness, clarity and wisdom.
