These Te Papa Talks Animation workshops continue from Friday night’s Exploring Digital Storytelling event, giving you the chance to talk to a range of industry professionals. John Strang and Leo Chida, Dusk
Join local animators John and Leo for a hands-on workshop where they discuss what it’s like to start up an agency specialising in motion graphics. See examples of their work, walk through their creative process, and gain unique industry insights.

Kelly Cooney, DreamWorks Animation SKG Production Manager
Kelly Cooney gives an insight into her career and why it’s an essential part of the DreamWorks Animation creative process. She discusses her work on movies likeShrek and Puss in Boots, and how all the strands of these complex productions come together. Questions welcomed!

Freelance Illustration, 2pm–4pm
Tim Gibson, graphic artist and comic illustrator
Working for Steven Speilberg and Peter Jackson on Tintin is just one of an astonishing range of projects in Tim’s portfolio – he’s worked from everyone from Weta Workshop to the Garage Project brewery. Gain insights into Tim’s creative process, from raw works through to final execution, as he shares his journey as a freelance creative.
