The BiG Show 2016 – An International Comedy Showcase

Six International comedians in a 2 hour show – it’s the biggest Big Show yet.

Since 2006 ‘THE BIG SHOW’ has become one of the most popular shows in the annual NZ International Comedy Festival promising a line-up of 4 to 5 world class comedians each night in a 2 hour show.
In previous years audiences at The Big Show have been introduced to world class comedians such as Andy Parsons, Stephen K Amos, Mark Watson, Phil Nichol, Jason Cook, Neil Delamere, Carey Marx, Terry Alderton, Milton Jones, James Acaster and many more.

In 2016 The Big Show is bigger than ever with six acts appearing in the 2 hour show.
RICH WILSON (England) – After a brief appearance at the 2015 Festival we have invited Rich back to host the 2016 Big Show because we liked him so much, as did those audiences that caught him last year.

Angela Barnes (England) – She had a stormer at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe so our scouts jumped in and invited Angela to our festival in 2016 before she becomes too hot to handle.

Ismo Leikola (Finland) – Not only voted the ‘Funniest comedian in the world’ following a global on line search by the Laugh Factory Comedy chain in the USA in 2014 but also, the first Finnish comedian to ever play New Zealand. Must see!

Jimmy Mcghie (England) – Described by one reviewer as “tediously handsome” the Brits know how to make good comedians. First time in NZ and bound to charm our festival audiences.

Ron Josol (Filipino / Canadian) – Sticking with our ‘international’ theme in 2016 we invited one of the favourite headliners on the Pacific ring pro-comedy tour. Not only very funny but also a thoroughly nice guy.

George Egg (England) – And, just to keep you all guessing’ we introduce George who will be appearing elsewhere in the Festival as the ‘Anarchist Cook’ but here, in the Big Show, we will discover the full range of his acclaimed comedic abilities.

Fully licensed and seated cabaret style, The Big Show provides an atmosphere and experience in keeping with the best comedy club around the world, including our very own at The Classic. It’s the ideal comedy festival party for family, friends and workmates.
