But now it's a whole other thing. It's still gonna be an uplifter but with a bigger purpose. Come if you can.

"Don't waste any time in mourning, organise."

Were the words written by Joe Hill the great union songwriter prior to his execution in 1915. The words are still applicable. This election has felt like death, a gloom pervades and apocalyptic dread seeps around our media social and otherwise. Yet as this feeling sinks deep in our guts, more important and perhaps more dangerous is the rebirthing of forms of thoughts and action which remind us of darker times; where unbridled nationalism and megalomania and vanity converge in hate speech and toxic devisive rhetoric.

These are always present but now as they take their biggest gasp of air and become legitimised inside the most powerful seat of power in the world, it may indeed be the worst time to mourn. Maybe we should start by surrounding these ideas and the feelings they create within us, with action, with hope, with positive opposition and maybe a little song and speaking and in the words of Peter Seeger hopefully force them to surrender.

We intend to offer you motivation and ideas going forward about how you can act for good close to home and also offer you the chance to dance and sing the edges off these confusing and dark times.

We don't have the answers, but we hope through singing and talking together maybe we'll get a little closer. Join us if you can.
