MOTAT's April Holiday Experience is coming!

The Force – Energy Go! focuses on all things ‘energy’ and pays particular attention to the transformation of power between potential and kinetic energy.

Here you will learn more about the various types of energy in a science-based experience involving a series of hands-on activities. Feel just like a superhero as you discover first-hand that energy is all around us and can never be created or destroyed, only transformed.

This is going to be a fun and exciting opportunity for families, particularly those with children between the ages of 7 and 12, to explore the vital power of energy and how we harness and use it every day.

The Force – Energy Go! includes the following activities:

The 'Enerdrome' - A battle arena only superheroes can conquer as they race against the clock to score as many tags as possible. The pace will be fast and frenetic as the concept of kinetic energy is demonstrated in one of its purest forms - movement.

‘Science in a Sec’ - These pop-up styled booths will be set up in different locations around the Museum every day. You’ll need to follow the clues to find them first before you can complete their experiments.

‘Chaoseum’ – Discover the effects of inertia, momentum and other physical forces in this ball pit with a twist. Intrigued? Come along and find out more.

‘The Kinetarium’ – If your young Padawan (or force-sensitive Jedi apprentice) is under 5 then this is the place for them. It’s an obstacle course incorporating simple objects designed specially with younger visitors in mind as we focus their play on movement.

Scribblearium – Chill out in this space while experimenting with kinetic devices to create different patterns. Give our scribblebots, chaos pendulums and spirographs a whirl to see how movement can be converted into exciting works of art.
