The Nukes - "Ukulele will never be the same."

Far more than a ukulele band. They are high entertainment. Part vaudeville, part rat-pack, part musical car crash. This talented trio delivers an engaging mix of humour and originality that audiences love.

The innocent little uke is the instrument of choice and audiences will be staggered by what they are able to achieve with it. Great songwriting, musicianship and 3-part harmony combine to create a truly memorable experience.

Taking their recently recorded 3rd album songs on the road for a pre-release tour workout, stay tuned for the massive album release tour from Mid February 2017.

Azo Bell began playing music as a child in the 1960s. Jimi Hendrix and Jose Feliciano were among his early influences. He has played guitar in jazz, blues, rock, reggae, hi-life and latin groups, worked in free improvising ensembles plus recording and theatrical performances. He is also a master of ukulele and musical saw, and a designer and builder of fretted instruments.

Azo formed the Old Spice Boys in 1997. The trio was instantly noticed by the ukulele community in USA and Europe. They became a festival favourite in Australia and abroad.

In 2002 Azo toured in the USA, performing solo at Global Ukulele Summit and 2002 Ukulele Expo in New York City. He performed with Old Spice Boys at Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak (Borneo) in 2005, in The Famous Spiegeltent at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006 (Scotland).

In 2007 Azo appeared solo at Phuket International Blues Festival in Thailand, with Old Spice Boys at Rurhrfestspiele in Germany and solo at the New Zealand International Ukulele Festivals (2007, 2008 and 2011) with the cream of the world’s ukulele players.

Since the release of his latest solo ukulele CD Airborne in August 2016 Azo toured USA and Canada playing 20 small shows in 7 weeks.
