One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, a wonderful ambassador for billiards and snooker, and several times World Billiards Champion, Peter Gilchrist (Singapore), the only man living to have had two 1000 breaks (1346 & 1000 exact) is here to win this `Title' again. Last time was in 2007 when he made the current world record break of 1346 at the Hamilton Cosmopolitan Club in Hamilton. Can he beat that this year!

World #3 Rob Hall from the UK is here too, also the winner of numerous titles with 2 other Englishmen high in the world rankings, Peter Shelley (WR#22) and Gary Norman (WR#23). Also, Peter Shelley has won the NZ Open Billiards 5 times!

For the first time, three Vietnamese Billiard Cueists are competing, and also here for the second year in a row is the very popular Indian player Sushrut Pandia.

Let us not forget our neighbours, '2015 NZ Open' Plate winner Alex Kay, with Brian Moulday, Graeme McNeil and, Jason Colebrook complete the Australian entries.

They are all here to compete with the New Zealand Billiard players over 4 days of intense competition.

Who will be 2016 NZ Open Billiard Champion?
