The Rogue Stage is proud to present the first Pop-Up Art Exhibition at The Monarch.

The exhibition features the work of 4 contemporary artists, NL Deano Shirriffs, Miriam Ruberl, Talulah Belle Lautrec-Nunes and recent scholar, Jason Hamon.

Deano Shirriffs is a Wellington-based alchemist abstract artist, inspired by landscapes. His unorthodox methods of applying or manipulating materials and paints on the canvas create scenes exploding with colour, texture, and depth.

Miriam Ruberl is a Rotorua, Volcanic Plateau based abstract painter who explores a range of media - clay, pigment, ink or ordinary household materials.

"In view to let the materials speak for themselves about their composition, qualities, and responses to processes." - NZ Art Show.

Talulah Belle Lautrec-Nunes is an abstract and landscape painter based in Rotoma, Bay of Plenty. She has over 15 years' experience of making art. “I’m constantly searching for the perfect mark. It has to be instant and uncomplicated, natural, fluid and fresh. I’m never satisfied with what I create. I’m constantly reaching, striving to make the next painting revolutionary.”

Jason Hamon, a recent graduate from Waiariki Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, is exhibiting 3 artworks - all three very different in approach, style, and themes.

The exhibition will be hosted for 3 days at The Monarch with an opening event on Friday, 30th Sept at 5:30pm.

Free viewing:
- 10 pm to 2 pm - 1st Oct
- 12pm to 5pm - 2nd Oct - lunch available to buy at the venue ($5 to $10)

During his visit to Rotorua, Deano will also offer a talk and workshop (ticketed), to give you a deeper understanding of his work and with guided instruction, experience hands-on techniques he utilizes in his paintings.

Workshop: Saturday 2 pm to 5 pm (ticketed).

Live slam poetry event - 1st Oct - $10 entry.
Performances by two local artists, NL Liam Dixon and Sua Mativa.
