Scope invites post graduates and young professionals and leaders to their first Transformative Leadership - a global perspective event. The guest presenter will be Switzerland’s Ambassador HE Mr David Vogelsanger. He will discuss representing a small country in a turbulent world.

Come along, buy a drink, enjoy socialising, be inspired by a 25-minute presentation and participate in a group discussion on how the ideas presented could be applied to New Zealand.

Cash koha to Rotary Foundation International Peace Initiatives. Limited seating.

RSVP: Wheldon wheldonch@gmail.com.

Ambassador HE Mr David Vogelsanger served as a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in different zones of armed conflict in Africa, the Middle East and East Asia. He served at the Swiss Mission to the OECD in Paris, and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (international humanitarian organizations, peacekeeping operations and narcotics issues). He was in charge of political issues and the spokesman for the Swiss Embassy in Washington D.C.

From 1997 he was Deputy to the Swiss Ambassador in Bulgaria and Macedonia. From 2001 to 2005, he directed the International Organizations Section of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. He then served for five years as Consul General in Milan and from 2010 to 2014 as Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

On 23 October 2013, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu, with residence in Wellington. He also serves as Consul General to American Samoa.

Scope’s Transformative Leadership - a global perspective will take place on Monday evenings from the 29th of August 2016. Speakers will include Ambassadors, High Commissioners and CEOs of international agencies. These events will provide Wellington's post graduate students and young leaders and professionals with global ideas and possibilities. Attendees will be inspired with ways they can contribute to the success of businesses and organisations that will also transform the well-being of communities and the environment.

Scope is a young professionals’ organisation supported by the Rotary Club of Wellington.
