You are invited to a performance by the delightful award-winning Trinity Trio:

Talented musical sisters, Tina (piano), Stella (cello) and violinist Sally Kim feature in a rich programme of Beethoven, Dvorak and Gareth Farr’s “Ahi”.

The Trinity Trio was formed in 2013 at the University of Auckland School of Music. As a group they won the prestigious Pettman-ROSL Scholarship, which was hosted in New Zealand. This gave them the opportunity to give more than 12 concerts around the UK - including at the Edinburgh Festival, the Lake District Summer Music Festival and at St James's Piccadilly.

While in London as part of their stay in the UK, the trio had the privilege of receiving lessons from members of the Fine Arts Quartet (Robert Cohen and Efim Boic), Jon Thorne, David Takeno, Michael Dusseck, Julian Jacobson, Renna Kellaway, Tamsin Waley-Cohen and Phillip Moore. When the trio was invited to perform at the Akaroa Music Festival in Christchurch in 2014, they met Tasana Nagavajara who invited them to Thailand to perform for the Siam Society in Bangkok, Pattaya and Khon Kaen and in Hua-Hin for the New Zealand Embassy's 80th Anniversary Concert.

In 2015 the trio went to music festivals in France, Germany and Italy and in the Brahms international chamber music competition in Pörtschach, Austria, received the highest mark in round one and reached the finals.

A student of Rae de Lisle, pianist Tina (Inah) Kim has been accepted onto the Masters course in piano accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music from September 2015. Violinist Stella Kim is completing her Masters of Music in violin performance and cellist Sally Kim is currently undertaking her Bachelor of Music at Auckland University. Sally’s string quartet Geist’ were the National winners of the NZCT Chamber Music Contest in both 2011 and 2012 and they went onto perform in the Shanghai International NZ Music Festival in September 2012.
