Nau mai, haere mai: This workshop is suitable for educators, whanau and staff that work with Tamariki that have Autism or are suspected of having Autism. Suitable for staff from kohanga/ECE level right through to wharekura/secondary level.

There are two parts to the workshop:
- Understanding Autism. This includes examples of how life occurs for people with Autism. If you think you need extra help for some Tamariki - you are probably right. Participants will recognise common indicators present for Tamariki at home and in our classrooms and specifically how to tell if an urgent referral for specialist support is recommended.

- Strategies for behaviour. Many Tamariki with Autism face challenges being included fully in life, sometimes it is due to their behaviour and often it is because people around them do not know how to connect with them or engage them. This section is all about practical skills to use for effectively connect and engage Tamariki.

To register, please contact - enquiry@autism.org.nz or 09 415 7406.
A suggested donation of $5-$10 will support the ongoing work of the Children’s Autism Foundation.
