To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Day - we will be officially launching Whariki Hauora - the well-being initiative for people working in the performing industry. Whether you are a performer or crew, work for a film or production company or freelance, come along and find out how you can get involved, how you can access confidential peer support counselling if you need it, and how you can donate to the fund from your next production, event or performance.

The Programme for the evening:

7pm – Karakia/welcome. Introduction: Summary of information that was collected from the last Hui, what we did with that information and where we are at now. - Borni Te Rongopai Tukiwaho

7:15 – The Pilot project – How Whariki Hauora Peer Support Service will work, the relationships and roles of various people and organisations, how to access the service, access criteria and how to donate to it (Where does the money go? What’s in it for me) - A walk-through of the Facebook main page and “Get Help Now” sections.
What might the future of WH look like post-pilot? - Taimi Allan

7:30 – Additional and peripheral arts of Whariki Hauora, e.g. the Buddy idea, and how to add your name and idea, the “Notes” pages of the facebook page – Walk through of “Buddies”, “What Else Do You Do” and “Wellbeing Events and Initiatives” - Hera Dunleavy and Rachel Nash

7:45 – Equity’s Actors Benevolent Fund and Whariki Hauora, the difference between the two, clarity and why we need both. - Cameron Rhodes

Before 8pm – Close with a group song or activity to join everyone together

8-9pm mix and mingle, possible break-out activity rooms or discussions, drinks and kai, visiting stalls/information/resources/activity stalls etc.
