For White Night 2016, social-practice artist Tiffany Singh is collaborating with Auckland Museum and our visitors to create an artwork that brings a rainbow of light to the Museum Atrium in celebration of our local culture.

Join us, and Tiffany, to share your wishes and blessings on a lantern and leave your mark on the installation. You’ll also be paying your blessing forward, as Sunday’s visitors will be invited to take a lantern away (subject to availability).

Tiffany Singh is an interdisciplinary site specific installation based artist who uses a cross section of media to convey ritual in an abstracted way. Mindful of mental, physical and spiritual equilibriums her artworks aim to create forces and fields that by working together hold tensions and polarities in balance. Singh’s works resonate with sensual understanding to articulate culturally-specific inter-faith based inflections using symbolic colours, organic materials with fair trade artisan alliances while exploring the arts as a therapeutic medium.

During your White Night visit, please enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

Meet the high-flyers
On White Night, you’ll also be able to meet a couple of ‘high-flying’ characters. Come on a journey through the decades in our current special exhibition, Air New Zealand 75 Years. Meet ‘Vivian Walsh’ from the New Zealand Flying School and hear about his adventures high in the sky and back down in the hangar. And if you are a nervous first-time flyer, don’t worry about a thing; step back in time into the Solent cabin and meet 'Barbara', a frequent flyer who has some great flying tips to put your mind at ease.
