Celebrate. Share. Laugh.
Come and join us in our Celebration of International Women's Day 2016.

We will be meeting in the courtyard at Te Manawa for a midday departure.
We will be parading to and around the Square, to finish at Te Marae o Hine for a shared Picnic with laughter, celebration, songs, dances, and a few speeches.
There will be Giant Puppet representations of varied ethnicities who make up our city, along with women of all ages and abilities.

We will be having a shared Picnic, so bring a plate to share. Food can be dropped to Te Marae o Hine (in the Square) before the Parade.

We are excited to announce there will be a mass dance for all women attending. Moves for this will be taught at workshops leading up to the day and via social media. We invite you all to join us in this powerful moment together.
1 hour Rehearsals of Mass Dance for One Billion Rising will be held at Te Manawa Museum on:
Tuesday 16th Feb at 11am. Thursday March 3rd at 11am and 12.15pm and Sunday March 6th at 1pm.
All rehearsals led by Jennifer Moss.

We invite contributions for a collaborative Big Book, where women can leave a record of their experiences, thoughts, recipes, wishes. Paper will be provided, or things can be prepared in advance and bought along to add to it. This will be a record/snapshot of women in the region and may be displayed within the community after Women's day.

We hope you can join us.
