Adam McGrath, Wayne Mason, and Rob Joass

Fans of great songwriting are in for a real treat when Adam McGrath, Wayne Mason and Rob Joass come to Levin to share their songs and stories about life, love, death, and everything in between. All 3 have spent a large part of their lives travelling all over New Zealand and the world, going wherever fans of quality songwriting can be found.

Adam McGrath is a folk singer stationed wherever he lands. He travels the state highways and byways of New Zealand, Australia, Europe and parts beyond, slinging songs and offering up low rent barroom philosophy with his band of misfits and chancers, His songs have gathered a clutch of good reviews in NZ and overseas, he's been nominated for a couple of serious music awards (including the Apra Silver Scroll), Graham Reid from the NZ herald called him 'NZ's toughest minded songwriter’ and Barry Saunders from The Warratahs simply described him as “The Truth”.

Wayne Mason is something of a Kiwi icon, having won the 'song of the millennium' with his song 'Nature', first recorded in the '60s with The Fourmyula, and also covered by the Muttonbirds in the '90s. A founder member of the legendary Warratahs (penning “Hands Of My Heart” amongst others) , Wayne has also recorded several albums under his own name, 'Sense Got Out' being the most recent.

Rob Joass is well known to many music fans throughout New Zealand through his work with Hobnail, The Shot Band, The Hard Core Troubadours and Too Many Chiefs. He writes compulsively, tours incessantly, teaches guitar, produces albums, and can be found behind a mixing desk live and in the studio when time allows. His songs have been covered by artists both in NZ and abroad, and he is a 3 time finalist at the NZ Music Awards. Hobnail are currently working on their 6th album, Too Many Chiefs are scheduled to release their debut album in 2017, and Rob is also planning a solo album for 2018. No rest in sight then, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
