About Capital Quilters:
Capital Quilters is one of the leading quilt guilds in New Zealand and the only one in Lower Hutt. It was established in 1985 and over time it’s members have won numerous awards in national and international competitions, across a range of styles. The guild membership is hugely diverse, spanning over 50 years in age range and including people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.

It acts as a community hub encouraging the development of each member with guest speakers, monthly meetings, classes, UFO nights, (that’s Unfinished Objects for the uninitiated) newsletters and special events. Many of the members meet on a regular basis in smaller stitching groups, forging long-lasting friendships and support. The Guild is proud of being part of the Wellington community and regularly organises quilts and/or takes part in sewing events for charity, including working with the Neonatal hospital wards and Arohata prison.
