Celebrating 150 years of Waipukurau - Exhibition opening and book launch of "Fading Memories - Waipukurau - Our Town in the 1920 to 1935 era" by the late Jessie MacKenzie Hamlin. The exhibition will be opened by Alex Walker, Mayor of Central Hawkes Bay.

Book "Fading Memories" will be presented by Ken Hamlin. Guests are invited to dress in period costume. Waipukurau history is pretty unique in New Zealand. It was established as a "model village" a utopian community concept of Henry Robert Russell. Portrait of Henry R. Russell by Gottfried Lindauer will be on display.
