The Pointon Collection of Cars & Costume displays original Nylon fashions from the 1950's.

How did we manage before Nylon was created? From nylon stockings to lingerie, blouses, scarves, gloves & hair ribbons, to smart daywear and evening dresses, we show Nylon in all its 1950's glory.

Nylon was strong & lightweight, easy to launder & quick to dry so ideal for school clothes and also those gorgeous stiff petticoats. It also came in a vast range of colours, dainty prints or flocked patterns with enough variety to suit all occasions. We take a nostalgic look at this "wonder" fabric made into an interesting display of original 1950's clothes.

Don't forget we have something for the guys too - our vast array of automobilia & garage gear along with those fabulous vintage & classic cars & bikes. The Pointon Collection is an ideal place to take your visitors this summer.

We are open most days 10am to 4pm, ring Gaye on 06 3786710 for more details. Charges apply and we do not have eftpos.

This original display of 1950's Nylon fashions continues until Sunday 28th January 2018.

The next display opening Saturday 3rd February is all about Art Deco and will feature clothing from the 1940's.
