It's not easy creating a show that connects and entertains older children and their parents about war, but that is just what Leo Gene Peters has achieved in his production An Awfully Big Adventure. As part of its NZ tour, this spectacular theatre show hits Invercargill at the Civic Theatre.

Whether you are looking for a ridiculously clever show to go to with your child/teenager, a quality family event, or think it is important to give young people an appreciation of the impact of war - this show is for you. It's script humour, inventive prop craziness and continuous song break-outs will have you all thoroughly entertained at an affordable price.

Through inventive play, An Awfully Big Adventure transports us to WWI to interrogate the impact war on New Zealanders. It is told in a style that leads the audience back in time to get a feel of what it was like for those who went before them and how the effects of war lingered for so many.

Follow Robert who thinks he is off on a big adventure, taking the free transport over through the New Zealand army to have his 'big adventure', and Tom, the conscientious objector, who objects to war and is sent over by the New Zealand government to fight for his country as punishment.
