Internationally touring poet - RikTheMost - was only meant to be briefly staying in Paekakariki but then accidentally fell in love with the place and so has decided to put on a special one-off night of spoken word wonder!

RikTheMost is a poet constantly seeking understanding; intrigued by the psychology of choice, emotion, motivation, interaction and reaction. Taking inspiration from their work as a breakdancer and musician, they have developed an intense passion (bordering on obsession) for playing around with rhythms and rhymes in their written work, taking each word apart and analysing the syllables for all they’re worth!

Rik has performed all over the UK, including at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as internationally, and even been commissioned by the BBC to write for the WW1 centenary. Having toured Australia last year, and recently returned from America to compete in the National Team Slam Finals, Rik has spent the last couple of months doing shows around Wellington and Auckland - taking the Wellington Regional Championship title in process and then claiming second place at the NZ Poetry Slam Finals!

There will be an open mic section at the start of the evening, that aspiring and seasoned poets alike can sign up for on the night (6.45pm).

Followed by a short 10 minute break.

And then finally, Rik will perform an hour of their own poetical musings.

Afterwards, there's a pub over the road right?! Let's go there!

The event starts at 7pm sharp! Suggested $10 entry to be paid on the door - but pay what you can afford - you don't miss out on art just because you don't have the money.

Rik will also be bringing copies of his special mini-books available for purchase and signing after the show - if the mood so takes you!
