The Whangamata Summer Festival has been hosting this event for over 20 years. It is the largest market in the region and is a myriad of sights, sounds and smells with food & drink stalls, a huge range of craft, instruments, jewellery, fun rides for the children, and much, much more.

The Craft Market days are hugely popular and are the major fundraisers for our community Festival which runs 24th Dec - 10th Jan in Whangamata.

The Craft Market is attended by thousands of locals and holidaymakers and is set in all three fields of Williamson Reserve, just behind the Surf Club. There is sun and shade, parking and toilets and a cafe nearby. What more could one want?

This year we're having a night market on Thursday 27 Dec from 4 - 8pm in Williamson Park, Ocean Rd, Whangamata.

Followed by a day market on from 9am - 4pm on the 28th of December in Williamson Park, Ocean Rd, Whangamata.

Plus the Onemana Market Day from 10am - 4pm on the 29th of December. This is held at Onemana Reserve, Onemana - 10 mins north of Whangamata.

We have the redeveloped Williamson Reserve hosting a huge array of craft and food stalls, from original art to hair braiding and henna tattoos, garden ornaments & plants, samosas and fresh hand made fritters!

Heaps of kiwiana inspired art and crafts, handmade one off clothing, designer printed tee shirts, chilli & olive oils and products, nuts, sweet treats, fresh & smoked fish, berries, organics, hammocks, handmade bird whistles, loads of stuff for the kids, clothes and toys and tools for the garden & kitchen... oh my, I could go on and on, but best you all just get there!

The Whangamata Summer Festival is run by a not for profit community group who fund raise all year round, in order to provide a focus for youth, young families, locals, holiday makers and the elderly, by offering markets, Opera in the Park, basketball & volleyball competitions, skate competitions, a kids' holiday programme and loads more!

We are supported by the TCDC, Trust Waikato, NZCT, Whangamata Area School, Blackies, Whangamata Surf Lifesaving Club, Fusion & the Whangamata Baptist Church, Public Relations Security, the Coastal news plus many volunteers and community members without whom, it could not be a free event.
