Join artist Joseph Michael for a behind-the-scenes look at his 2015 expedition to Antarctica.

Hear Joseph talk about what inspired his current project celebrating the pristine scenery of Antarctica.

Then step outside to experience the Museum transform into a full-scale Antarctic iceberg in the immersive and awe-inspiring Antarctica - while you were sleeping installation.

Joseph Michael’s multimedia projects embody a magic balance of technology and fine artistry. Michael seeks out the rare and sublime in the natural world and represents it dynamically, fusing creative vision with cutting-edge technology.

Michael has produced a diverse body of work combining art and technology in film, documentaries and fine art, including dark cloud / white light and the Luminosity series. His work has been exhibited globally, including the US, Russia, Germany, and South America, as well as extensively throughout New Zealand.

Michael’s latest project Antarctica - while you were sleeping, debuting in 2017, projection maps the magnificent icebergs of Antarctica onto significant buildings across the globe.

Joseph Michael currently lives and works in Auckland, New Zealand.
