From the stunning short dresses embroidered with glass beads in elaborate geometric patterns of the 1920's to the glamorous sinuous gowns of the '30's that were so cleverly cut & seamed to define the waist, accentuate the shoulders & narrow the hips.

And then there was the 1940's with wartime shortages which led to a more creative approach with a few gathers here, a touch of lace there or more hand embroidered beadwork. They're all different and all have a story to tell.

The men haven't been forgotten either, with the young man in his 1924 3-piece woollen wedding suit to the more formal attire for the male in the '30's - plus of course, the cars that took them to the wedding or away on their honeymoon!

Relive the Art Deco era as Gaye takes you on a tour of these cars & the original clothing from the 1920's to the 1940's.

The Pointon Collection is open most days from 10am till 4pm with groups very welcome by appointment - phone 06 378 6710 for more info.
