Fundraising Concert in aid of buying a minibus for Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School so that the children can be taken to local events, venues etc with Chinmaya Dunster & the Grateful Dads performing their ‘Mystic Poets cycle.’

Chinmaya Dunster has been a pioneer of East/West world fusion music for more than a quarter of a century, releasing twenty CDs internationally. He was invited by Paul McCartney to play at his wedding in Ireland in 2002. He moved to New Zealand in 2013 and joined the Grateful Dads (all fathers at the school) the following year.

Chinmaya and the Dads are premiering their ‘Mystic Poets’ cycle, which takes poetry by Tagore, Kathleen Raine, Bulleh Shah and others as the basis for songs. These are blended with instrumental pieces from an eclectic range of genres. They are joined by noted Auckland singer Carolina Moon and NZs top tabla player, Basant Madhur.

“I love the music of Chinmaya Dunster’s ‘Celtic Ragas’ CD. It has become one of my favourites” - Paul McCartney 2002.

Nigel Gavin’s Gitbox Rebellion: Ten acoustic guitars exploring aural textures.

“The group played with a discipline and rapport that would be the envy of any classical chamber orchestra. Gitbox Rebellion provides stimulating, intelligent, and above all approachable music that will ensure them a steady following - Tara Werner, NZ Herald.
