The Pointon Collection of Cars & Costume is now showing the latest winter fashions from over 40 years ago.

We show daywear & dinner gowns made of velvet or wool in the 1940's, plus their accessories.

Then in the 1950's we see skirts & jackets, jerseys & blouses & even a hand knitted dress for the well turned out lady. Then the country woman dressed for town in the early '60's followed by the teenager in her woollen mini & boots. And of course in the 1970's fashions changed from wool to heavy crimpilene or jersey knit, from mini dresses to maxi skirts & trouser suits.

This is a nostalgic look at what would have been worn in a town like ours with our wonderful womenswear shops, department stores & boutiques.

The men haven't been forgotten either, with the well-dressed man ready for a night out with his best girl. Of course, we have the cars too, with their passengers well wrapped up for the cold winter ahead.
Come, take a trip down memory lane.

The Pointon Collection is open most days, ring Gaye on 06 378 6710 for more information.
"Winter Fashions" continues until Sunday 30th July 2017.
