Backbeat is Auckland's coolest monthly stand up gig, located in the heart of Central Auckland's K Road. Each show is a hand-picked line up of NZ's best comedians.

This month featuring:
- Angella Dravid
Angella is this year's winner of the the Billy T award right so. Her hilarious and frankly bizarre (and bizarrely frank) real life stories combine with a gift for comic timing and holding the audience in the palm of her hand. The NZ Herald described her as the "queen of the awkwardly unabashed", we'd describe her as outrageous funny.

- Justine Smith (MC)
Justine is a NZ comedy institution unto herself, having won Best MC, Best Comedian, Best Female Comedian and the Billy T. She's a honed talent on the live circuit and an increasingly familiar face on the telly too. No wonder, with her self-deprecating style and sharp audience banter, she's got a smitten fan base all across NZ.

- Tevita Manukia
The Tongan/kiwi stand up with a thousand watt smile coupled with a gift of uproarious story telling. The unique perspective of Tevita's Pacific Island background and current Auckland life combine for a consistently brilliant set that'll crack up everyone from the grand kids to aunty to grandpa.

- Will Wood
Dead pan delivery and razor sharp jokes are what makes this Waikato-kid-turned-Auckland-YoPro so disarmingly great. Will's background in radio and television have equipped him with a commanding stage presence and his keen comedic eye reveal a worldview that shows us, life is pretty messed up when you think about it. Will is a hidden talent of the kiwi stand up scene.

As per usual, they'll be unannounced drop-ins from faces familiar and new who come to Backbeat to test new material - you never know who might show up for the November showcase.
