Backbeat's back with 7 top comedians for $20 this Friday! Pax Assadi, Guy Montgomery, Tim Batt, Laura Daniel, Joseph Moore, Savanna Calton and Inosi Colavanua.

Guy Montgomery and Tim Batt:
Taking a joint hosting role, the hosts of New Zealand’s most successful podcast (The Worst Idea of All Time) will be your MCs for the evening. Guy’s a globe-trotting, award-winning comedian (Billy T 2014 winner) and improviser part of the legendary Snort collective. Tim has played in Australia, USA and across NZ and was nominated for Laugh Factory’s 2016 Funniest Person in The World Award.

Pax Assadi:
Half Iranian, Half Pakistani, all comedy. You may have seen Pax on the telly on 7Days, Maori TVs Crack Up, the critically acclaimed Brown Eye, Word Up and 2016 NZ International Comedy Gala. He’s also part of the internet sensation kiwi comic trio Frickin’ Dangerous Bro. Pax’s been nominated for NZ’s top comedy honours; The Fred Award and is considered one of NZ’s best comedians performing today.

Two Hearts: Laura Daniel & Joseph Moore:
Laura Daniel (Funny Girls, Jono and Ben) and Joseph Moore (7Days, Jono and Ben) have joined forces to create a musical comedy act, the likes of which NZ (and maybe the world) has never seen before. Equal parts powerful pop and hilarious gags, think less Flight of The Concords and more Lorde + Liam Finn in a comedy blender.

Savanna Calton:
A dark horse and self-confessed Upper Hutt bogan, Savanna beat out comics from all over the country to become the 2015 National RAW Quest Winner. She’s got sarcasm and a resting b*tch face but most importantly, she’s got the goods when it comes to top notch stand up.

Inosi Colavanua:
A powerful new face in New Zealand comedy, Inosi has taken his energetic, Fijian flavoured comedy to a nomination for NZ Comedy Guild Best Newcomer in 2015 and Runner-up in the 2016 Raw National Comedy Quest. A crowd favourite and quickly rising star in the national scene.
