In the concert production, 'Strings Attached', Cellists of Otago joins one of New Zealand’s leading guitarists, Matthew Marshall in a programme that focuses on the most favourite guitar and cello repertoire with a Spanish flavour.

The slow movement of Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo, transcribed for guitar and cello ensemble, is but one of the main attractions of the concert. Also included is a solo guitar performance by Matthew Marshall and a duo with cellists Heleen du Plessis. The ensemble comprising 16 cellists will perform works by Spanish composers such as Cassado, Albéniz, and Granados and other popular Spanish songs in the favourable acoustics of the Sargood Centre.
