Enjoy an afternoon of classical music by two of the younger members of the brilliant Verner family.
Aziel on violin accompanied by his brother Asaph on piano. Works by Sibelius, Mendelsohn, Prokofiev and Sarasate.
Funds from this concert will assist Aziel attend the Summer International Master course in Israel this July.
About the musicians:
Aziel Verner (21) is briefly home from his studies at the National University of Singapore. He began music studies in Wellington at age six. His talent was clear from a young age as he started winning violin competitions. Aziel then went on to win a scholarship to Singapore's prestigious Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. He has just completed the first two years of the four-year Honours course and recently won First Prize in the Conservatory's concerto competition (higher strings).
Asaph Verner (22):
Asaph took piano and violin lessons for fourteen years before deciding to pursue a different career path, gaining a double degree in Law and Commerce at Victoria University. However, music has a special place in his life and he enjoys having the opportunity to perform whenever he has the time.
