Colours From China: Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Art

In association with Templar Contemporary Art Foundation, Mossgreen-Webb's is delighted to present Colours from China (17 August - 9 September 2017) an exhibition of contemporary Chinese art curated by well known Beijing curator and art critic Liao Wen 廖雯.

Colours from China brings the work of nine leading contemporary Chinese artists working in sculpture, painting, drawing and installation to New Zealand, many for the first time. Artists featured are Liao Jianhua 廖建华 , Mao Tongqiang 毛同强 , Meng Baishen 孟柏伸 , Shen Yue 沈岳, Shi Jinsong 史金淞 , Yang Guang 杨光 , Yang Liming 杨黎明 , Zhan Wang 展望 and Zhang Wei 张伟.

A public programme of curator and art specialist-led talks and tours will run throughout the duration of the exhibition:

19 August, 11am:
Tour the exhibition with curator Liao Wen to learn about the key themes in Colours from China. Translated by Annie Luo of Templar Contemporary Art Foundation

26 August, 11am:
Tour the exhibition with curator Liao Wen and Linda Tyler, Director of the Centre for Art Studies at the University of Auckland, in the discussion on curating today. Translated by Annie Luo of Templar Contemporary Art Foundation.

2 September, 11am:
Tour the exhibition with curator Liao Wen and Gallery Exhibitions Manager Jessica Pearless in a discussion on the artists included in Colours from China. Translated by Annie Luo of Templar Contemporary Art Foundation.
