One Night Only - A Showcase of world class comedians coming to the 2017 NZ International Comedy Festival.

8 International Comedy Festival stars packed into One Big Show.

Kicking off the 2017 NZ International Comedy Festival at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna on Sat 29th April it’s the Comedy All-Star Showcase featuring 8 international guest comedians in a 2-hour show.

It’s a taste of things to come with many of the stars of the show returning for extended sets at the BMC Comedy Club over the 3-week festival. Others will only be appearing in this showcase.

The 2017 Showcase features some exciting new faces including one of the stars of 'Live at the Apollo', Hal Cruttenden who has appeared in 3 series of the popular UK TV stand-up showcase, as well as 2 prestigious Royal Variety Performances.

He will be joined by other fresh stars Ed Gamble, Adam Hess and Lou Sanders from England and Iain Stirling from Scotland, all of whom are touring headline comedians in the UK and beyond.

We also welcome back Chris Martin who was last in NZ in 2014 plus a favourite from 2016, Jimmy McGhie. Rounding out the line-up is the charismatic, Markus Birdman who appeared at the 2014 and 2015 Festival in NZ.

Following the Comedy All-Star Showcase, local producer Scott Blanks will, once again, be converting the conference and function rooms at the Bruce Mason Centre into a comedy cabaret very similar in style, proportions and atmosphere to that at the home of live comedy, The Classic, which he has run for 18 years on Queen St.

Launched at the 2014 Comedy Festival, this format proved an instant hit with local audiences, returning in 2015 and 16 with more sold out shows.

The BMC Comedy Club will host a fresh international line-up over the following 3 weeks of the festival every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, concluding on Sat 14 May.

Part of the 2017 NZ International Comedy Festival powered by Flick Electric Co., running from 27 April - 21 May. To get the latest on all the comedy shows on offer, info about the Fest, access to competitions and special deals, head to
