"Cabaret (English pronunciation: /kæbəˈreɪ/) is a form of entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama" - cheers Wikipedia. In this workshop, Hadley looks at how to put together a low-cost way of showing off your acting, writing, and singing skills. Good for actors looking for a way to tell a story, singers wanting to find a way of connecting songs together, producers looking for low cost shows, bar owners looking for fun and accessible entertainment.

Constructing Cabaret will look at different ways to put together a cabaret set from scratch, and will develop the ideas in the room, equipping participants with a product they can take on the road.

Hadley Taylor is an Auckland based actor, podcaster, and MC. He moved to Auckland two years ago from Dunedin, where he regularly performed at Fortune Theatre and co-founded the production company Counterpoint. Since moving up north to study under Michael Saccente he has appeared in Dust Palace’s Ithaca as Antero, as Aladdin in Twisted at the Basement Theatre, in the short film SAM334 and on Shortland St. Last year, Hadley won Best Script at the Nelson Fringe for his play Swimming with Whales in Tonga. His writing career started with writing sketch comedy for the OUSA Capping Show. Hadley has also written several cabarets, including 2011 - for Dionysus' Hotspot, and the award winning Slice of Pie (James Wallace Emerging Artist Award).
