Daniel Madill:
I create garage folk songs for the modern fears: days spent at tills and the swapping of bills. It's been said I'm a mix of Kurt Vile and Micah P Hinson; Howlin’ Wolf, Arthur Lee and Gene Clarke are my holy trinity.

Dunedin (NZ) is the city where hunched over a fan heater with a gumboot tea and some Marmite toast by my feet, I chiselled out my sound. In 2014, I shifted north to the shaky swamps of Christchurch. At my new address, I've continued to spread my anything goes vision of folk: performing regularly and self-releasing the Diatom EP in 2015.

"The calm power of Daniel’s songs has a great way of soothing your mind and day, and they also have this driven-ness that energises you when you hear them, whether it's been for the first or the fiftieth time." - Jon Bakos, Radio One 91FM. 2017

Violet French:
It all began in Dunedin, and it all made sense in Christchurch. Writing songs of observation, matter of fact, perceptions of the way things go. You don't need to know about her affairs of the heart, she doesn't need to tell you. A voice that sometimes struggles to sound as it means to, but is sturdier by fingers that cannot stop, or slow down.
