Pirate & Queen are proud to present a fanatastic concert featuring Irish singer-songwriter Declan O'Rourke and French Canadian band Vishtèn – four acclaimed international artists performing on one bill for a night of amazing music.

Declan O’Rourke is a critically acclaimed Irish singer songwriter who has worked and performed with many of the world’s top artists, including Snow Patrol, Glen Hansard, John Prine, and the Transatlantic Sessions in an award-winning career that has seen him release 5 studio albums and tour across the globe.

“Declan writes the sort of classic songs that people don’t write anymore, that sound like they’ve been around forever… Listen to Galileo, which is possibly the greatest song written in the last 30 years.” – Mojo Magazine.

“A most talented singer-songwriter, possessing a rich, soulful, musical voice and a brilliant instrumental ability” – Paul Brady.

“One of the finest songwriters on the planet” – Eddi Reader.

"Since Kyabram is an album I will listen to for the rest of my life and will probably never tire of" – BBC Radio.

French Canadian powerhouse trio Vishtèn are making their first visit to New Zealand, bringing their upbeat infusion of traditional songs, built on a bedrock of driving foot percussion, fiddle, piano, step dance, and accordion. Their music is from the Acadian tradition; a precursor to Cajun music.

Vishtèn magnificently “blends Celtic and French influences with Canada’s equivalent of Cajun music” – Living Tradition.

Winner of 4 East Coast Music Awards, including “Roots/Traditional Group Recording of the Year” (2016).
