Immerse yourself in the history of New Zealand's most important early ‘harbour city’. The 10-day programme celebrates Otago Harbour’s heritage with events for all to enjoy.

The Festival launches with a boom at Taiaroa Head’s Royal Albatross Centre. Check out buildings not normally open to the public during the Vogel Street Party in the original warehouse district. The Glenfalloch Gala Day celebrates the 50th anniversary of Otago Peninsula Trust.

Talks, exhibitions, performances, trails, tours, early films not shown before, family fun and opportunities to share your harbour photos abound. Talks include the Lawson Lecture on early Dunedin architects and the Building a City from the Sea Symposium.

Labour weekend celebrates Port Chalmers, Quarantine Island and Port Otago Open Day. Catch a train to port, plus view the Lady Thorn Rhododendron Dell and citywide open gardens.

The festival culminates in Josephine's Birthday Party family fun at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to a Vision for the future of the Otago Harbour.
