Marlborough Combined Colleges Production for 2017.

In Evita, Che the narrator tells the story of a poor Argentinian girl, Maria Eva Duarte who from the humblest of beginnings follows her lover Magaldi to Buenos Aires, determined to make a big time.

She uses all the feminine wiles to embark on a career in acting and radio, but after meeting political hopeful General Juan Peron at a fund-raising concert she joins forces with him to advance both their careers.

When he is elected president in 1946, she as the first lady wins popularity for Peron and herself as a hero to the poor and enemy of the rich. Many of her methods are unconventional; however, her glamour and confidence mark her out as a star.

She tours Europe promoting her charity causes, but returns to ill health.

Her death results in an emotional outpouring of grief from the citizens of a country who saw her as a saint.
