Follow the footsteps of Dr Orbell and see where the takahē were rediscovered in 1948. This is your chance to visit the Takahē Special Area in the Murchison Mountains and hear about the work that is carried out there.

Meet at the Real Journeys wharf, Te Anau.

A high level of fitness is required to enjoy this trip as it includes a steep 3.5-hour uphill tramp on an unformed route, with the return descent via the same route.
