Meet in the Ngā Manu Information Centre prior to 11am.

Come and experience this precious world through the eyes of an artist at Ngā Manu - It’s guaranteed to be an experience like no other! Bring a picnic and stay for lunch. The experience is included in the entry fee and open to all ages - just come along on the day and take part.

Wellington artist Paul Forrest and bird photographer Derek Tearne have collaborated on an exhibition of weatherproof photo/paintings of birds in flight to celebrate all things bird and to highlight the importance of providing a healthy natural environment for them to survive and thrive - The Halo Project.

On the experience Paul will be hosting a guided walk through our precious forest. Paul has also set his studio in the information centre at Ngā Manu and is currently creating a new artwork inspired by one of the most prolific birds on site. A Pukeko.

The Halo Project installation is on at Nga Manu Nature Reserve until September 10th. There’s also another 18 artworks currently on display at the Mahara Gallery in Waikanae.
