Golden Bay offers a variety of fantastic and easily accessible photography locations. Dave Buckton and Richard Young will guide you on a four-day workshop where you will have the opportunity to photograph stunning limestone formations, lush native forests and ever-changing sand dunes.

You will also spend one full day on a privately chartered boat exploring photography locations and marine wildlife in the world-famous Abel Tasman National Park. The boat will allow us to visit beaches and bays that would normally take days to walk into and gain access to short walking tracks to stunning photography locations.

- Private charter boat in Abel Tasman
- Iconic Archway Island sunset

Topics covered:
- Coastal landscapes
- Long exposure seascapes
- Forest and macro photography
- Settings and composition

Day 1:
Meet in Nelson mid-morning and drive over to our accommodation in Golden Bay. There are plenty of photo opportunities on the drive along the way so we might stop off or take a short diversion to make the most of the drive. Our first day finishes with a sunset shoot at one of many stunning beaches in Golden Bay.

Day 2:
We will have an early start to photograph the sunrise before we board our private chartered boat and spend the day photographing Abel Tasman National Park. You will be taken into the most photogenic areas of the park with plenty of opportunities to head ashore to take in the beautiful bays and beaches along this stunning coastline.

Day 3:
Our third day commences with another early start to shoot the iconic Archway Islands at sunrise. We will spend the rest of the day exploring this area, taking opportunities to photograph the stunning coastline of Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit before heading back to Archway Islands for sunset.

Day 4:
Our last chance for a sunrise shoot in Golden Bay so we will be up early to shoot one of a number of coastal locations. We will then head inland to the Takaka Hill area to photograph limestone formations and beech forests before making our way back to Nelson to connect with late afternoon flights.
