For those familiar with Fiona Tunnicliffe’s artworks the way she describes her new exhibition Harry’s Friends Too will make perfect sense…
“Harry is a Hare, his girlfriend Harriet makes the occasional appearance. They spend a lot of time sitting around on armchairs drinking tea and eating ice-cream”.
Tunnicliffe is well known and respected for her passion for clay, her love of animals and sense of humour which are all reflected in her creations. She is a master at representing the essence of an animal’s character with the flick of a tail or the arch of a neck and this along with the surface treatments she uses make her work distinctive and desirable.
Harry’s Friends Too will be showing in the Niven Gallery at Taupō Museum from Saturday 4 February until March 13. An official opening and opportunity to be first in to purchase one of Tunnicliffe's sought after creations will take place on Friday 3 Feb at 5:30pm.
Taupō Museum is open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm and is free for Taupō residents and all children.
