These short films all share a focus on wāhine and have Polynesian creative input in key roles, with all the directors themselves being women. Many of the films have won awards and travelled to international film festivals. The films were selected by Turnbull Gallery curators Catherine Bisley and Ariana Tikao to support the current exhibition, Wāhine: Beyond the Dusky Maiden, at the gallery which Ngā Taonga is proud to support. The films in Selection Two are listed below.

O Tamaiti is the story of a young boy who plays guardian and protector to his siblings and portrays his impressions in a powerless adult world.
