Still warm from its latest performance in Paekakariki, Rhian Wood-Hill's fresh comedic story, How I Met My Father, is coming to Upper Hutt’s BoileRoom!
Rhian Wood-Hill knew just a few things about his father growing up: He was a criminal, he was charming, he was good looking, and Samoan. Being raised in the seventh whitest place in New Zealand, Rhian didn't have many reference points to his Samoan identity and seemed to lack most of his father's other qualities.
A loveable part of Wellington's comedy circuit for a few years now, Rhian is taking it down a notch (but not losing all the jokes) with his new storytelling show that explores one weekend with his brother and his biological father and how he became the person he is today.*
“Rhian has been described as an energetic, charismatic anecdotalist who lives such an idiotic life it could only be comedy” (NZ Comedy Fest). How I Met My Father has a bit of something for everyone: Laughs, lamentations, and lawlessness (an appearance by Lucy Lawless herself is yet to be confirmed).
Tickets $14 via Eventfinda or cash on the door.
*Admirable role model not necessarily provided.
“The first thing you notice about Wood-Hill is how much he loves telling his story … [he] is energised on stage, thrilled to tell us.” – Art Murmurs
