Hutt Valley aquifer - where does our drinking water come from?
Dr Uwe Morgenstern

The Hutt valley aquifer supplies up to 70% of the entire region’s water demand.

GNS Scientists have studied this body of water hidden in sediments beneath the ground to find out how much water can it hold, its age and where the water comes from.

Dr Morgenstern is New Zealand’s leading aquifer dating specialist and characterises underground water movement in large aquifers.

Come along and ask questions to initiate an informed dialogue on the issues that will affect our region by 2100.
