Pieces of Eight, Auckland’s newest vocal ensemble, cordially invite you to their inaugural concert on Sunday 15 October at 5pm in St Luke’s Church, 130 Remuera Rd, Auckland.

'Illumina, Music of Light' features stunning choral music from across the centuries by William Harris (Bring us, O Lord), Gustav Holst (Nunc dimittis), John Rutter (Hymn to the Creator of Light), Thomas Tallis (O nata lux), Eric Whitacre (Lux aurumque) and others, as well as two organ pieces by Arvo Pärt (Trivium) and Eugene Gigout (Toccata).

The octet comprises well-known Auckland soloists Shona McIntyre-Bull, Jan-Maree Baughan, Ann Gibbard, Margo Knightbridge, Iain Tetley, Dmitry Rusakov, Ben Jackson and Ben Kubiak, and the ensemble is directed by Grant Hutchinson.

The concert is presented in aid of St Luke’s Organ Restoration Fund and admission is by donation – $20 (waged), $15 (unwaged), children free. Tickets can be purchased in advance (with preferential seating) through the church office – telephone Pamela Day on weekdays between 8am and 1pm at 09 520 0740.
