Our Akaroa Summer Concert Season starts as it will continue, with a colourful mix of classics old and new. This year we are excited to be presenting the full Beethoven cello sonatas, played by four international cellists, leading off in this concert with Edith Salzmann's performance of the g minor sonata. Also in this concert, Gideon Klein's haunting string trio, a quartet for recorder, violin, flute and harpsichord by Telemann, and a smorgasbord of other works from across several centuries. Note that the Telemann quartet introduces a mini-series within this series, with three more works by the great Baroque composer to follow in later concerts.
