This psychological approach will be presented as a workshop at the NZCCP Conference in Queenstown on Saturday 29 July and as a paper at the NZPsS Conference on the 1st September in Christchurch.

In this workshop, Bhavna will introduce you to this novel approach to working with clients.

The training will include theory as well as mindfulness practices so that participants can get a personal experience of the approach before introducing it to clients. In the workshop, you will gain theory as well as practical tools to help clients to regain their self-love. These tools are easily implemented, with profound changes.

From this approach perspective, depression/anxiety (and other mood states) are understood to be a natural response to living in a self-abusive relationship. In essence Self- Love is about changing your abusive relationships to yourself to a more loving way of being. The map and tools contains ways to stop the verbal, psychological and physical abuse that so many of us do unconsciously, as well as, how to build a healthy relationship to yourself.

This training is suitable for anyone working within the mental health field.
