Grammy nominated Kiwi Country singer Peter Caulton will present a night of music performed by the late great Johnny Cash mixed with a little stand up comedy, in the intimate Bistro Bar.
Peter has performed this show over the last 8 years at major events in Europe. There are many songs we all know in the show and some material that people might not have realised Johnny performed including selections from his later Grammy award winning American recordings series of CD's that younger folk are familiar with from MTV and the Movie “Walk the Line” Some Johnny never performed live.
Peter has been a professional entertainer for over 30 years performing in over 20 countries and featured on some of New Zealand's earliest country music TV shows. He has performed on shows with Emmy Lou Harris, Jerry Jeff Walker, Don Williams, Heather Miles, Dave Dudley, Kenny Rogers, The Burrito Brothers, George Hamilton the IV and Slim Whitman to name a few.
The show features songs from the entire career of John from his early Sun Record years, his hugely successful prison albums, out selling the Beatles world wide at the time, his ground breaking television show, his involvement with the "Highwayman" project with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson and songs from his American Recordings up until his passing.
This is a show for any age group over 18 who love songs with substance that touch the heart and soul. A joyous celebration of the music of a show business icon.
Cash is Cool.
